Webinar on the 1996 Hague Child Protection Convention, 30 June & 1 July

The Centre for Private International Law & Transnational Governance of the University of Aberdeen is organising a webinar on Cross-Border Protection of Children under the 1996 Hague Child Protection Convention: Practical Perspectives from Contracting States.
The event will be held on 30 June & 1 July and is part of a research project led by Professor Katarina Trimmings, which evaluates the effectiveness of the 1996 Hague Child Protection Convention in the UK and other Contracting States.

This research project examines the legal framework for the cross-border protection of children, focusing on the 1996 Hague Convention on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Co-operation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children (‘the 1996 Hague Convention’).

University of Geneva: Executive Training on Civil Aspects of International Child Protection (ICPT) – 2024-2025

The University of Geneva is organising the second edition of the Executive Training on Civil Aspects of International Child Protection (ICPT).

The University of Geneva’s ICPT, offered by the Children’s Rights Academy, is designed to:

  • Explore innovative approaches to uphold the fundamental rights of children in transnational situations
  • Learn best practices for supporting unaccompanied minors and displaced children seeking asylum
  • Collaborate with experts from various fields to create holistic and effective child protection strategies
  • Understand the dynamics of how different organisations and stakeholders can work together to protect children

Module 1: Children’s Individual Rights in Transnational Parental Relationships

Module 2: International and Comparative Family Law

Module 3: Vulnerable Migration

Module 4: Practice of Child Protection Stakeholders: Inter-agency Co-operation in Context

This training programme is designed for a diverse audience, including child protection professionals, legislators and lawyers, researchers, students, international organisation staff members, and governmental authorities, among others.

University of Geneva: Executive Training on Civil Aspects of International Child Protection (ICPT) – from December 2023 to April 2024

The Children’s Rights Academy of the University of Geneva is organising an online Executive Training on Civil Aspects of International Child Protection (ICPT) from December 2023 to April 2024. For more information, click here.
