Conference and open access book: The Private Side of Transforming our World – UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the Role of Private International Law – 9 to 11 September 2021
In 2015, the United Nations formulated 17 ambitious goals towards transforming our world – the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030). Their relation to public international law has been studied, but private law has received less attention in this context and private international law none at all. Now renowned and upcoming scholars from multiple countries and disciplines analyze, for each of the 17 SDGs, what role private international law actually plays towards these goals and how private international law could, or should, be reformed to help achieve them.
The resulting findings will be published in an open access volume with Intersentia and presented in the framework of a Conference to be held on 9 to 11 September 2021 at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.
The Conference will take place in a hybrid format, i.e. both at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and virtually via Zoom. English-Spanish and Spanish-English simultaneous translation for the Conference will be provided by professional interpreters.
